I have never stepped foot into Dakotah Steakhouse until today. I haven't driven by it a thousand times. I was invited by a friend who was from out of town. Got there about 5pm. The atmosphere was nice and bright. Appreciated the basketball games on the TV. Ordered the 10oz sirloin, medium rare. Came out perfect. Paired it with a baked potato. My buddy got the steak tips with the wagon wheel potatoes. Those were even better than the baked potato. Our waitress was amazing and the food was incredible. It is a steakhouse so your wallet might hurt after but your appetite will be full. Will come back again. Oh, also the bread is just as good or better imo than other places in town. 🤌🤌

Cool place, but they were busy on a Wednesday afternoon. Pros: Steaks (and bison), fried bread and butter, hostess and waiter were nice, and clean Western style interior. Also the drinks were good (including Guiness). Cons: They were out of the honey glazed carrots and the brussel sprouts were shredded instead of whole (I prefer the texture of whole or cut in half sprouts). The wagon wheel potatoes were over seasoned.

We expected a touristy restaurant trap. Boy, were we wrong! We had the beefburger ( you can choose bison meat) and bison satays. Both were Excellent quality. The peanut sauce is on the spicier side. Excellent wine pairing. Staff is very knowledgeable- we had very good service and appreciate when a restaurant trains their staff. Definitely a place to go back to.

I’ve been meaning to write this for a while.. definitely a long overdue review! Our experience at Dakotah Steakhouse was made unforgettable thanks to Crystal. She was truly exceptional from start to finish. Crystal didn’t just take our order—she elevated the entire experience. Her recommendations for dishes were spot-on, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. On top of that, she went above and beyond by sharing great places to visit around South Dakota, which made our trip even more special. She was warm, pleasant, and genuinely attentive without ever feeling overbearing. It’s rare to come across someone who blends professionalism with such a personal touch so effortlessly. If you’re dining here, I highly recommend asking for Crystal—you won’t regret it!

Food and drinks were really good. We both had the sirloin, not over seasoned and great flavor. It was quiet and easy to talk. Service was great. Would definitely come back. Price is good for the amount and quality of food and service.

Celebrated our anniversary here and was worth it. There were plenty of options to choose from that arrived as large portions. Everything was fresh, and steaks were prepared as requested. Staff were attentive and friendly. Mixed drinks we had were just ok, didn't taste much alcohol for the price, would stick with beer or wine.

My meal at Dakotah Steakhouse was absolutely amazing! I tried the fry bread, walleye fish fingers, and buffalo satay, and every dish was bursting with flavor. The fry bread was perfectly golden and crispy, the walleye fish fingers were tender and seasoned just right, and the buffalo satay was incredibly juicy and delicious. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a rustic charm that made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring everything was perfect throughout the meal. I highly recommend Dakotah Steakhouse for anyone looking to enjoy unique, flavorful dishes and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

The atmosphere was good with great service. Our waiter was helpful and friendly. The food was good and well seasoned and we got to try the state dessert (Kuchen) which was wonderful.

I really enjoyed this steakhouse. I have had better steaks, but not at this price. Service was good, drinks were never empty. The sides and appetizers were tasty. We ordered the tomahawk medium rare and it came out just right.

All around great dining experience with Brandi. I will come back for steak. Had a bison burger and my date has a chicken ceasars salad and we both had wine. We shared a delicious apple crisp for dessert.
